Fox News chose Pat Hegseth President-elect Donald Trump's security

 

   

         Fox News chose Pat Hegseth, President-elect Donald Trump's security secretary, to make a classified financial payment to a woman who accused him of rape over fears that the claim would  LinkNews Monster, will notify its legal counsel of their termination.   told CBS News.

  Hegseth's attorney, Timothy Palatore, said the military veteran agreed to a classified settlement to prevent his informant from moving forward with a claim, maintaining that he was honest and that the sexual experience was consensual.  .   Hegseth denies any wrongdoing.

  "Actually, if they documented [the case], the normal cycle takes a lot of time, so Fox News probably would have dropped it given the allegation," Pelatore said, adding that the woman and her attorney  "Feeled basically having to record it. Creating an immediate storm of hate for [Hegseth]."

  Fox News did not respond to a request about when the organization saw Hegseth's understanding of the settlement.
