SEOUL (Reuters) — South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol said on Wednesday he would lift a shock military regulation statement he had forced only hours prior, withdrawing in a deadlock with parliament which entirely dismissed his endeavor to boycott political action and blue pencil the media.
Yoon proclaimed military regulation on Tuesday night in a broadcast address to upset "hostile to state powers" among his homegrown political rivals. In any case, shocked legislators dismissed the announcement, in South Korea's greatest political emergency in many years. Yonhap news organization said the bureau had concurred right off the bat Wednesday to scrap the military regulation.
