Starbucks Barista Dress Code (2025 Update):
Starbucks has introduced a refreshed dress code to create a more unified and polished look for its baristas across North America. The goal is to highlight the iconic green apron while maintaining a clean, approachable appearance for customers.
Shirts:
Baristas are now expected to wear plain black tops. These can include styles like crew-neck tees, polos, or button-ups, and may have either short or long sleeves. To support this change, the company is giving employees two branded black shirts for free.
Pants:
Acceptable bottoms include black, khaki, or blue jeans. They should be tidy, free of rips, and wrinkle-free to maintain a professional image.
Shoes:
Footwear must be closed-toe and closed-heel, made from sturdy materials like leather, suede, or rubber. Shoes should offer enough support and meet safety standards for working around hot beverages and equipment. Socks or stockings must also be worn.
Apron:
The familiar green apron is still a central part of the uniform. It should be worn during work hours, clean and unwrinkled. Employees should remove their apron during breaks or while performing tasks like taking out trash.
Accessories and Appearance:
Baristas can wear simple, non-distracting accessories like plain scarves or ties. Neutral-colored hats without logos are allowed if they’re approved by Starbucks. Personal style is welcomed, but clothing must not have large graphics, logos, or loud patterns that could detract from the overall customer experience.
